IFRS 17 in Practice – Non Member

$950.00

Belize’s Insurance Act, No. 30 of 2023 requires every licensed insurer — local and regional — to file financial statements in accordance with IFRS. That makes IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts the governing standard for measuring insurance liabilities, revenue and profit in the statements you file with the Office of the Supervisor of Insurance & Private Pensions.

Description

As the industry and the Supervisor work through adoption together, insurers need a practical command of the standard, a clear line from IFRS 17 results to the statutory returns and reporting their boards can act on — all with lean finance teams and outsourced actuarial support. This workshop is built for that reality. Day 1 teaches the standard as it applies to Belize business — the Premium Allocation Approach for annual general business, with a dedicated life-insurance track for the General Measurement Model and CSM — and shows how the results translate into regulatory filings, KPIs and board reporting. Day 2 is about choosing a solution proportionate to a small market: what a lean finance team actually needs to produce audit-ready IFRS 17 numbers every period.
